This extended,two hour session,will address the question:

"How would your Board respond to a catastrophe event?"

Speakers:

  • Michael Tripp (Mazars, formerly at CEO at Ecclesiastical)

Michael is a partner at Mazars and an actuary with over 35 years' experience in the insurance industry. From 2007 to 2013, he was Group CEO of Ecclesiastical Insurance, and before that a partner with E&Y and Watson Wyatt. His main experience is strategic leadership of insurance operations, and he has a particular interest in ERM/Operational Risk.

  • Bev Fitzgerald (Loss Adjuster)

A leading industry figure with over 35 years' experience of claims at the highest level. Past President of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters and Chairman of the Society of Claims Technicians. Bev specialises in project-managing catastrophe events, including reinsurance recoveries and commercial settlements at both individual claim and portfolio levels.

  • Jonathan Clark (SCOR & 2018/19 CII President)

Jonathan will become President of the CII in September 2018. He has been a claims professional throughout his insurance career. He joined SCOR in 2013 where he is Global Head of Claims for Business Solutions. Prior to joining SCOR, Jonathan was a member of the executive teams of Global Adjusting firms Crawford and Cunningham. Between 2007 and 2009 he was claims director at the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

  • Perry Hill (DWF)

Perry is a partner in the insurance team in DWF's London Office. He is a former barrister who specialises in defending high value personal injury claims, particularly those brought against local authorities, police services and schools. He is legal advisor to Alarm, the Public Risk management association. Perry is the lead solicitor at DWF appointed to represent the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in matters relating to the Grenfell Tower disaster.

  • How to avoid responding badly when a catastrophe event occurs
  • What can go wrong?
  • Encounter issues that you may never have thought about
